Facilities
Ridgewood is situated on greenbelt land surrounded by fields and trees at the end of a quiet, residential street.
We have recently (January 2020) had a £4.5million building transformation involving a new block for English, Humanities, Library and Support and Guidance. Our Sports Block has been remodelled and fully refurbished. This project also involved the demolition of an old block (March 2020) and mobile classrooms as well as the construction of two new foyers including new toilet facilities. This building work has completely changed the way we look and much improved the quality of our classroom experience. More spacious classrooms with 2020 heating and lighting in comparison to the 1950s are a delight to work in.
We have also recently updated (August 2020) our Science and Language classrooms with new lighting, windows and blinds, dramatically changing the appearance of the block and the experience within it.

Purpose-built Dance and Drama Studios, Music teaching room and Practice rooms
Eight Science labs
Food, Art, Design and Technology classrooms
Traditional school hall with stage and stage lighting
Computer suites
SEN suite
We hope that fundraising started in 19-20, and continuing in the new school year, will raise money to provide improved seating and leisure facilities for students at break and lunch times.
