Uniform and PE Kit
We expect our students to wear their uniform with pride and to always look smart with their shirts tucked in and ties worn properly. If there is an issue with their uniform, students should report to their Form Tutor at 8.30am to get a blue uniform card which they can then show their teachers when questioned about their uniform. The Form Tutor or another member of the pastoral team will speak with parents and carers about any concerns related to uniform to see how we can support you to get these resolved. The blue card explains what the issue is, (e.g., wearing trainers due to school shoes breaking), and when this will be resolved.

Pre-Loved Uniform Shop
From July 2024, we will be running our own ‘Pre-Loved’ Uniform Shop in school, where parents can purchase a used blazer, tie or PE top from us, for a nominal charge. Any funds raised will go towards the Friends of Ridgewood. We recognise that we are living through unprecedented times of financial difficulties, and for many families, the cost of uniform is a significant burden. This is compounded as children grow and require more uniform over the five years, they are with us, and if families have multiple children at the school.
If you would like to enquire about what stock we have available, please contact the Friends of Ridgewood using friendsofridgewood@gmail.com
How to donate uniform
With this in mind, if you are willing to donate your child’s blazer, tie and PE top (regardless of whether it has initials on or not), we would be most grateful. Of course, if you would like to keep the uniform as a memory from your child’s time here, that is absolutely fine, but we do hope that giving the items another life could be very beneficial to several of our families at Ridgewood. Items can be dropped off at our school reception in a bin bag, once the uniform is no longer required.
