Results Day Information

Collecting GCSE results and certificates

Students will be able to collect their results from 9am until 11am. They should collect them from the School Hall. They will be asked to sign for their results when they collect them.

Please note that we are unable to release results to anyone other than the student, unless we have a signed letter of consent for that person to collect results on their behalf. We cannot accept screenshots of text messages or emails for this purpose.

If you are unable to attend Results Day, you MUST contact Mrs Charles (Exams Officer) or Mr Cannon (Deputy Headteacher) for advice as soon as possible. If you need to get in touch after school has ended for the summer break, please email exams@ridgewood.dudley.sch.uk and we will contact you as soon as possible during results week.

Students will also be able to view their results on EduLink in the Reports section. EduLink accounts will still be available for students until the end of August 2024.

Qualification certificates usually come into school during the Autumn term, and we will arrange a GCSE Certificate Collection after school. This usually takes place in November, but we will confirm this date on our website and social media channels nearer the time.

In the event that you have a house move or change your contact details between now and Results Day, please do let us know using the info@ridgewood.dudley.sch.uk email address. This is in case we need to contact you.

Results Day is always a joyous experience at Ridgewood, and we look forward to seeing students celebrate the outcomes of their hard work. Of course, support will be available for those students who need it, and we would urge students who have any concerns about their results to speak to Mr Cannon or Mrs Charles as soon as possible.

Post-Results Services – Enquiries about Results:

Full details about services available to students following results collection will be published on our website prior to Results Day. If we feel that formal enquiries about results are required, we will advise students accordingly.

As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

99 Year Old Veteran Visits Ridgewood!

Thursday 6th of June 2024 marked the 80th anniversary of D-Day, a turning point in WWII and a huge moment in British history. At Ridgewood, we have commemorated this anniversary in a number of ways, including assemblies, lessons and our students contributing to a service at Mary Stevens Park.

In addition, today, we were honoured to have 99-year-old D-Day veteran Joseph Bullock share his incredible experiences with our students. Joseph, who served in the Royal Navy during WWII, was joined by fellow Royal Navy hero Bob Partridge. Joseph was one of ten men put aboard a Thames barge requisitioned by Winston Churchill, and sent over rough seas to land on Sword Beach. Joseph, 18 at the time, escaped the landings unhurt and completed service with the Royal Navy in Singapore before returning home safely at the end of the conflict.

In 2016, Joseph was awarded The Legion d'Honneur, one of France's highest honours, for his heroism. His stories of courage and sacrifice remind us of the immense bravery that shaped our world. When asked by our students what advice he might give to his younger self, Joseph highlighted to importance of loyalty and friendship.

Thank you, Joseph and Bob, for your service and for inspiring us at Ridgewood with your powerful legacy.

Message for parents/carers - Year 11s - Study Leave

As our Year 11’s are about to commence their study leave after the half-term break, we would like remind you of examination start times.

All AM exams begin at 9am. We would suggest students are on site by 8.45, but they do not have to go to their form room. Some students may access our Breakfast Sessions which will continue to run after half-term. These begin at 8am.

All PM exams begin at 1pm. We would suggest students are on site by 12.45. If students wish to dine with us before an exam, they are welcome to do so. Please ensure they have appropriate funds on ParentPay if so.

If students have an AM and PM exam on the same day, they are welcome to stay in school during the gap between the exams. They should sign in, in H Block so we know they are present and let Mr Cannon or Mrs Truslove know they are on site, and we will find a suitable place for them to work!

Please also note that students are expected to wear their school uniform for all exams.
